This Win Hill and Ladybower Reservoir loop is 8 mi This Win Hill and Ladybower Reservoir loop is 8 miles. Passing the famous Ladybower plugholes, the walk heads up to Win Hill, passing the ruins of Win Hill Barn, and then along Wooler Knoll to the Hope Cross before passing through Hope Woodlands next to Ladybower Reservoir. There’s only one major climb, and then it’s flattish or downhillish all the way! Parking: S33 0AZ - Free Lay-by or Pay and Display at Heatherdene Car Park Time: 3-4 hours Facilities: None - remember to take all your rubbish away with you and Leave No Trace. There are pubs nearby - Yorkshire Bridge and Ladybower Inn. Last time we visited it was so wet, we got drenched and had to get changed in the back of the car. This time it was lovely, dry and sunny - perfect apart from the litter! If you’re going to take beer up on the moors, at least take the empties away with you.
