Try this 3.5 mile Padley Gorge and Bolehill Quarry (or Bole Hill Quarry) circular from Grindleford Station. You’ll pass Padley Chapel and the ruins of Padley Manor, explore the old quarry with its millstone graveyard (snd tons of different toadstools and mushrooms) and then get all the Autumn colours in Padley Gorge. These will be at their best in mid to late October/early November. A short walk with loads to see! Here’s one a route to save for a rainy day in th Here’s one a route to save for a rainy day in the Lake District… We had a wander from Dalegarth Station along the old railway track to Gill Force and then up through a beautiful lush gorge to Stanley Ghyll. The path takes you up to a viewing platform which leans out over the gorge so you can see how far the drop is!!
